As long as you stopped bleeding you should be fine.
If the purple spot gets dark and it looks like you are bleeding under your skin that is a problem but it sounds like the bleeding is stopped just keep an eye on the spot and make sure it doesn't start bleeding again and do not irritaite it.

Don't worry-It's not unusual to have a little bleeding from the site after a blood draw, especially with coumadin. You may have a bruise there, but as long as it is not continuing to ooze blood it will be fine.

I agree, no bruising or continued bleeding. It should be fine. It is amazing how some tech can do a blood withdraw without any discomfort to the patient and others cause such pain. Had blood withdrawn this week and the tech left no bruise. Practically painless.

You can't worry about every little poke. I've had bleeding with every INR. It stops and I always have a purple mark and then its gone. Tha't the least of your problems.

I finally found a coumadin clinic that just does the spring-loaded finger stick instead of the needle...I had enough of those needles to last a lifetime!

As a side note, I started carrying a styptic pencil with me everywhere...the little scrapes or pokes that bleed are easily put to rest with this topical product. I also pack a few band aids...

Here the clinc uses the spring loaded finger sticker. I have had Nancy have to stick me twice before get the test done. They draw blood for other test with a needle in the arm. I just tell them I am a bleeder and they put cotton and tape on it. They do my finger too and time Nancy did not tape it I popped open and started bleed a little. I was a bleeder all my life. I have not had trouble.
