Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I know your ablation is coming up June 11. When I was a week out, I was kinda nervous about the whole thing. Just remember, you are waiting for your heart to finally settle down and quit doing all this a fibbing! The waiting game is the hardest. Once your ablation is done, you have a peaceful, relaxing heart to look forward to!!
Focus on that and remember to do things like Joan suggested like bringing an ipod with books on tape to help lull you to sleep afterwards while you are lying still.
Everything will go fine and soon you will be a fib free!!!!
