Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Barry Manilow on The Morning Show Today

Did anone else see Barry Manilow on The Morning Show today? He said he has been living with AFib for 15 years. He really did not say anything that we have not talked about here. He said he was asked to be the "face" for AFib and hopefully bring attention to the condition. You can watch it on The Morning Show.com

I didn't hear him say he had ablations only been in er and converted to nsr many times.

He says he had 3 ablations at 4:13 into the interview. He did not say he is cured. He has taken medication, had cardioversion, and 3 ablations. I am sure he would have said he was cured if he was. That would be a hopeful thing to say to his fans.

I cannot imagine the sight of Barry Manilow being cardioverted.... actually I did picture him cardioverted and then he gets up and starts singing and playing some Metallica for 5 minutes and then settling down into a chorus of Mandy in sinus rhythm.

Petey you crack me up:) I can't picture myself ever going through another ablation, let alone having gone through 3. It's a money maker for the doctors for sure, and you can bet Manilow had the very best. Even the very best cannot work a miracle. I'm through....this time for sure I know it and mean it from the bottom of my heart. Getting a partially collapsed lung and pleural effusion has woke me up to the fact that I'm going to live with this and die with this, but inbetween I'm going to have a good time and not worry all the time. I've tried...I've failed...that's the bottom line and the end of it.

You have a great imagination. I agree that none of them would have worked and yes, he would have the very best of doctors, otherwise why would he still be talking about it?

Ok first Petey you are a funny guy...I guess he would have said if any had worked...although I missed the part where he said he had the ablations...I will never listen to Mandy the same way again. Thanks Petey for keeping it real!
