Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

Bad night last night

Hello all had a bad night last night, lost of hesitations with my heart, speed up and slowing down. not much sleep. My husband tells me I have sleep apnea. I guess I better get this checked out. Anyone have similiar issues. I also feel like if I burp it helps the the hesitations to subside.

You may or may not have apnea, but even if treated for sleep disorders, Afib can still persist. Why not get to the source of the sleep disorder instead of becoming a customer of the fake mask salesmen?

so true. I had bad irritation from long term acid reflux before I got treated-- it coincided with the start of my afb.

. Sleep apnea has a known connection to afib.

I don't have any 'gut' .

Ycat, yes, as do several other triggers. My question is what came first the chicken or the egg? Just having a connection, does not necessarily translate into "the" connection, and treating the symptom of CSA does not cure Afib. I personally and in virtual world know of several people who were treated for CSA, still had AF, had ablation(s), still treat CSA. I would have been diagnosed with CSA Im sure, but declined the test and cured myself. If you do Yoga, there is an emphasis on breathing correctly and this goes a long way towards correcting several conditions. Basically the treatment of the CPAP is like a vacuum cleaner turned backwards. So the patient has no life style change for their condition, but does at least get their sleep.

Indigestion or eating heavy foods are a sure trigger for me so do not eat past 6 PM and stay away from all white foods, eat only fresh whole foods, if I feel the need on occasion for breads or sweets I wlll make it myself because the stuff in the stores is full of all kinds of chemicals msg etc and it has helped me allot with the pacs that so often flip to afib

I was at a potluck the othe night, sitting with a couple and he has afib and severe heart issues.....I just blurtred out your plate is all white. He thought I was a little crazy when I consider my beans junk food as they had bacon which led to good conversation.

When I saw him next ask about color and he said I put veggies in my omlette!

Real food can be healing I try for a rainbow each day, makes for a prettier plate.

I eat and live a healthy ltfe style and still got afib. Much more than lifrstyle involved. If all could be cured with gut issues I would be a very healthr person!
