Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
Just a note to say we are back from our great European Adventure to celebrate my retirement and our anniversary. This trip was a dream come true for me , and it was one of thel things I wanted to be able to do despite having parox. a fib. My heart behaved beautifully , despite the long flights, despite some problems with jet lag, through long long days of touring and walking and climbing and even through a few beers it behaved and as always my Flecainide was my friend. I know we are all different so please know that I do know I am so very lucky and so very grateful that my treatment is working and that I also realize eveything can change.....in a heartbeat :) Will catch up on all of the posts soon :) jan
That's awesome! Sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate your retirement and anniversary! I'm gad your heart behaved.
I've been hit with AFIB during all my vacations the last several years, so I'm hoping to have a NSR vacation this upcoming August. I'm 8 weeks post ablation and just met with my EP yesterday...all good so far.

Not fair! You cannot just say "I went to Europe" without ANY details! I shared that I was surrounded by beautiful women in my French immersion..of course, to be fair, I have been telling EVERYONE about that...even strangers on the street. Paris? Rome? Enquiring minds want to know!

One of the young ladies from Montpellier just posted pics of her vacay in Copenhagen...WOW! VERY nice, and CLEAN! She posted about a dozen pics, and I don't think I saw ONE piece of trash in any of them! I have only heard good things about St. Petersburg..wow. What a nice trip! Six miles a day! I know I walked a half hour each day back to the apartment...let me do some quick math..takes me 15 minutes to RUN a mile, so....nope, I did NOT walk 6 miles a day..congrats! I would say welcome back, but I know how hard it is to come back to the regular routine after something so spectacular!
