Hi this is my first post, I developed bad af 12 months ago was put on a lot of medications including amiodarone, which I developed bad reactions to , none of the medications helped at all, I was very short of breath at my wits end , could hardly dress my self in the morning, I have always been an active person all my life , playing sport etc , I was really down, I talked to my cardiologist and he suggested a cardioversion, I had it and felt great just like my old self but alas lasted for only for5 days and was back in a fib going up to 180 at rest and finished up in er, feeling very weak I decided to get a referral to a specialist for an ablation , we discussed my case and I decided to go for the av node ablation, they said it was a last resort option but the odds where good it could relieve my symptoms , I had a st jude duel pacemaker put in and had the ablation done, it was like a miracle straight away, I felt so much better been 4 months now since I had it done working around the house again mowing the lawns and playing lawn bowls again I am 79years young and it has turned out very good for me still get the occasional flutter in the upper chambers , but the bottom in now pumping well , I am hoping I will continue to feel this well
