Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
My husband and I are celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. We went out to dinner tonight and for the first time in ages, I had two glasses of wine, and a wonderful dinner. I forgot about afib and anticoagulants and always feeling like the other shoe was going to drop. I enjoyed a couple of wonderful hours with my husband when we talked, laughed and had a great time.
It was so nice to forget that I've got a miserable disease that has enough complications to kill me.
Now on to tomorrow.
