Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
went into afib oct 10th on 50 mg flecainide and 120 mg diltiazem er , been good since, all other health is good non smoker non drugs no caffeine or alcohol, I eat all organtic I did gamble a lot and was very stressed while I gamble , which I did for over 10 years, got to the point when I would walk in a casino my heart rate whould be high and I would be very dizy for hours on end while at casino..im glad I went in to afib, cause it deff cured my gambling addiction I was very stress while losing thousands of dollars over the last 10 years, blood pressure was very high while gambling also,
Afib saved my life. 50 yrs old, always active. 5-11, 185lbs. Sports and work in the fitness area. Last Feb, went to a routine physical. Doc said your heart is beating 181 beats per minutes. Many tests later, cardio cath finds my LAD 90% blocked. Get a stent. Two 18 day successful cardioversions later I decide to get an abaltion at the cleveland clinic(Sept 12). All has been great since. Into more anarobic style workouts and all of my blood work and vitals have never been better. Afib saved my life.
