Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I've always known about my episodes as the symptoms are very strong for me. Unlike many people, I can feel my heart beat all of the time so when it's out of whack I notice right away.
When my episodes began to become frequent and longer in duration, they impacted my work and willingness to travel, so I became more aggressive in my treatment.
I think the 300+ range is very high and I would definitely be doing something to address that.
