Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
It got so bad it caused airway constriction and I couldn't even walk about 50 yards without stopping to get some more breath. (I did find out that this is a side effect for some people.) My legs felt like lead too. My cardiologist immediately took me off that and put me on Diltiazem, calcium channel blocker which is much better, although I can't tolerate too high a dosage. It doesn't sound like a good drug for you.
Take care, Sandra
