Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group
Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I was diagnosed with AFib coming up four years ago in December. Unfortunately I was intolerant of all the drugs that were given to me and three years ago started taking natural supplements as they were the only things that could help me. I’ve been AFib free for the past two years. I still have occasional palpitations but they’re not ongoing or too bothersome. Like you I also notice those feelings sometimes after eating (it’s part of the digestive process).
I’d suggest you buy a wedge pillow - I’ve one and it helps a lot to sleep not lying so flat (have a softer pillow at the top for my head) - and it can help stop palpitations.
You sound like you need something simple to help you not to feel so anxious...
There is a post down the page on this forum with the heading ‘An essential oil that is helping me’ by deleted_user (Enrique). The oil is Ylang Ylang, and I tried it and now use it regularly. It’s very relaxing and calming, lowers blood pressure, regulates the heartbeat, and is great for insomnia too! Google Dr Axe Ylang Ylang and you can read about all the benefits. It really works. I use it at bedtime, and at any other time of the day when I feel stressed.
Make sure you take plenty of vitamin C, magnesium, potassium rich foods, and some CoQ10. I also take D-Ribose and L-Carnitine.
Most of the folks who used to be on this forum, like Carey, Petey and others, moved over to the forum below, after Daily Strength changed its format to the current one which is not as user friendly!
Take a look - as they are a very supportive group.
