Many medications and natural vitamins also are not compatible with blood thinners. It's better to have your dr. check it out thoroughly. I google everything on line to find out it's compatiability. Maybe Z-pac isn't the right med for you with A-Fib.

You should not use this medication if you have ever had jaundice or liver problems caused by taking azithromycin. Do not start a new medication without telling your doctor. Keep a list of all your medicines and show it to any healthcare provider who treats you.

Take this medicine for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. Skipping doses may also increase your risk of further infection that is resistant to antibiotics. Azithromycin will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu. Avoid taking an antacid within 2 hours before or after you take azithromycin. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb azithromycin. The best source of info. on meds is the pharmacist. Although the doctor prescribes the meds, they do not know all of the interactions of various meds. The pharmacist can cross reference everything and make sure that it is safe for you. Ask your local pharmacist.

I did ask the pharmacist when I filled it. He said it was fine. I also asked the doc when he prescribed it and he said it was fine. However, I read the same thing Petey had stated and that's what concerned me initially.
