Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

He said that the number 1 trigger he sees is alcohol, but caffeine doesn't seem to be as much of a problem in his practice.
Also, when discussing strokes I asked, "Don't females have a greater risk for strokes?" He said that the types of strokes females have a greater risk for would have shown up already by my age (63), and since I've never had a stroke yet, I have no extra risk factor.
But he did mention that after 70, there is more risk.
I am about 3 weeks away from 6 months since my cryoablation. Not a-fib free by any means.
