Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) Support Group

Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.

I have been reading through this thread and have seen that some folks are having luck with Vit C and Magnesium but I cant find what doses are being used. I take mag and Vit C but maybe not in high enough doses. I have not been diagnosed with AFib every time and they are not sure if it is SVT or AFib but either way it is very scary. I am going to a PE shortly and I dont want the only answer to be an ablation.
Any and all info greatly appreciated.

I "moused over" your screen name, and saw that you belong to both the DVT and PE groups.

If you've experienced both of those, then I think you're in a different category than most of us, and should truly listen to the electrophyisiologist (is that who you're seeing?), and then report back here what he/she recommends.

Personally (and I'm on the lower end of the spectrum here compared to what others take), but I take 1gm (2 x 500mg tablets) of Vitamin C per day and 400mg of chelated magnesium (2 pills 2x per day).

I was in the DVT and PE group. I take 600 mgs of mag and 2,000 mgs of liposomal C. I find the mag helps with my palpitations. I have to be careful not to take too much. It goes right through me if I do.

I had a PE of unknown origin in 2013. The irregular heart beats have not conclusively been classified as AFib..so I am just trying to figure this out. I do have an appointment with a PE the middle of April but I am not a fan of any procedures...just data gathering.
Thanks to those who have responded. I am taking magnesium and Vit C so far.
