I have had panic attacks in the past but while my heart raced and pounded it was not the same feeling as the a fib. A fib feels like my heart is flip-flopping and it is very irregular. Of course once the a fib starts the anxiety starts also.

I think it's very possible there is a connection between panic disorder and a fib. Maybe we are more sensitive to adrenaline or something?

I'm sorry you have joined this club...but welcome. Lots of helpful and supportive folks here. I have found it very comforting to know I am not alone and others understand. Best wishes.

I was just thinking the same thing last night. I have been dealing with
panic attacks for 5 years now, and was just recently dx with a fib in Febuary of this year. Sometimes I feel that maybe it was a fib all long
But this does feel different but does seem to start the same way.
Been journaling to monitor the episodes. Good luck

I had panic attacks too--right out of the blue. I had no reason to have one, and they stopped at one point and I've been fine for years and years.

I agree that there is a connection between high anxiety, stress and afib, however, only partially coorelated. If I'm having once of those day, I take a Xanax, and it helps the anxiety and the afib. Yes, it's hard to tell them apart.
