hello
yes, i find coffee helps. i have also started taking high dose vitamin c (redoxon 1000) and multivitamins.
because i get strange muscle cramps - possibly caused by low magnesium - i also eat more bananas and am trying to eat loads of fruit this winter. cranberries - stewed without sugar - have become an addiction of mine!
northerngoose: if you get strange muscle cramps you want to try to balance your potassium, magnesium, and sodium levels. The avg American diet is too high in sodium and not enough of the other two. Also, if you're taking Calcium supplements, they block absorption of Magnesium so either take them at different times or take some additional Magnesium to make up for it. Most multivitamins don't increase the dosage of Magensium because the molecular size is too big and would make the tablet HUGE.
Coffee: Coffee is chemically similar to the drug Theophylline and has been shown to act as a mild bronchodilator. I always avoid adding milk and cream as they may increase mucous production.
If you're looking for a comprehensive Multivitamin formula that provides all of the nutrients that people like us need, try BreatheFree Multivitamin ( http://www.breathefreevitamin.com ). It's a great formula and is super convenient. It takes the place of your daily multivitamin but is specifically formulated to fit our nutritional needs. :) good luck!
