Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.

Lately I've noticed that I have been tilting my head back occasionally when seated. I mean I tilt it waaaaay back. I wind up looking at the ceiling. I know that it looks odd but I seem to breathe better and it takes some pressure off my chest and back.
It is not anything that I planned but I find that I subconsciously do it several times a day. Weird.
Any thoughts?

My daughter has done the same thing since birth- she is 1 now-It's strange looking-I've taken pictures of her and shown them to the doctors- Our pulmonologist thinks she has Sandifer syndrome which is related to reflux-basically she's arching away from the pain or just trying to breathe easier from asthma related symptoms? We don't know,we are struggling to find out the problem-let me know if u come up w/any solutions please.

It seems to open by ever narrow airways just a little bit more. I might be imagining this but I feel like I get just a little bit more air in when I do it. When my chin touches my chest I feel closed up.

I do not mean to scare anyone but my dad would lay with his arm over his head to get more air then he found out he had lung cancer.

Don't know about that position in particular, but I do have problems breathing when lying down. If I am having a really bad spell, I have to sleep sitting completely up.

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
