Hi Doug,
I got an upper respiratory infection shortly after using sinulair. Months later I tried it again, just in case the two were not related. Again I got another upper respiratory infection. I no longer use it.

I am really sorry to hear that the two times you used Singulair you got upper respiratory infections...that is lousy!! I have been taking SIngulair to help manage my Asthma for the last 7 years or so. I am happy to report that I have had success. I will mention this, I do, get frequent breakouts on the upper part of my chest, near my collerbone, which is horriable..so, that is the only negative that I could report...and let me add this, thak GOD for Proactive!!

I have only been diagnosed with asthma since September so my experience with Singulair is limited. So far so good.

HI. My son was just diagnosed on the 9th of this month, but singulair has been a BLESSING. He has only had to have one nebulizer treatment, instead of wheezing and coughing every night. He takes 4mg every evening before bed. I'm hoping it continues to work now that the cold weather is finally here(that and colds are his only triggers so far).

I am taking Singulair both for asthma and for nasal allergies. It is getting to the point where it is not working anymore.My nose still runs all the time,and I still have to reach for my rescue inhailer a lot more than I should.Besides all this,I snore very loudly,and Terry173 is getting very upset because he can't get any sleep because of it. Singlair improve my youngest within the 2 weeks after starting. Singlair has kept us under control, and help us on our allegies. The only time we have problems are when the triggers are high. Unforturly I live in a state with highest allegerie.

I have been on Singulair for several months at a time over the last 6+ years. I always end up quitting due to the side effects. I also often experienced chronic long term upper respiratory infections. Singulair caused my heart to race and beat irratically and my blood pressure to zoom up. I had nightmares and agitation. I just went off it again about 2 weeks ago and am still recovering from the heart effects. Unfortunately, my breathing has also taken a turn for the worse. The coughing makes my chest muscles sore and I often feel mildly "tight" in my chest. My lungs "squeak" a bit when I lay down. My reaction is unusual but I know there are others who have had similar experiences.

Singulair has worked for us so far.. My son started using it in November and hasnt had any issues with it.. He also takes Pulmicort in the nebulizer.
