Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
From what I remember reading...it is best to make your personal surroundings the best oasis for your asthma that you can. There will always be triggers out there, but many doctors are trying to teach their patients how to avoid them and how to lower their exposure in their own personal space(s).
I think it was an article in an asthma newsletter that I receive periodically that had this info.
