Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
Hang in there. You're already got most of it behind you with only a few days left to go.
I was also on 3 weeks of pred from mid-January through the start of February. Til they come up with an alternative anti-inflammatory, there is nothing else.
But new drugs are on the way very shortly, so cheer up! :-)

I was changed to xopenox(sp?) from albuterol to help control the elevated pulse rate and the jitters.
I told the doc that my wife really didn't like me on pred and she replied "Does she like you breathing?" (I answered "mostof the time")
It is a necessary evil, I guess. A real mixed blessing.
