Do you have an asthma action plan? If I have a cold or upper respiratory infection I double my asthma medications as well as my nasal spray. The only medication I don't double is singulair. I hope your doctor can prescribe a medication that will help. If I get congested I use regular saline in my nebulizer to thin the phlegm so I can cough it up.

Yes I have an asthma action plan. If my peak flows are in the yellow zone than I take my pro-air rescue inhaler. If the asthma attack still persists than I take a nebulizer treatment. I always have my peak flow meter with me in my purse and my nebulizer is not far.

I don't use my peak flow meter too often. My asthma educator showed me the proper way to use it because I wasn't using it properly. I just use it to check if I'm having a hard time.

I like using mine! My asthma is consistent and I need to check it.

I know that my asthma is well controlled when I don't have to hardly ever use my inhaler. I wake up every morning with swollen sinuses, and phlegm.

So your allergies bother you more than your asthma. You told me you were on allergy medicine and only two asthma inhalers, I do not have allergies, but I am chronically stuffed up in my nose. I hate it.

Oops I forgot about the other thread, sorry. The allergist who did my skin testing told me I had allergic rhinitis. He prescribed avamys corticosteroid nasal spray for it. It does help quite a but but doesn't get rid of all of my nasal stuffiness. I tried neti pot but it dried out my sinuses too much leading to more pain.

Good thing it works for you, nasal stuffiness can be a real problem.
