Could it be my meds? I just started meds. Advair and a rescue inhaler.

Advair can take up to two weeks to have its full effect. I was on it for a while and it worked quite well bronchially, but it made me lose my voice and I've heard for others it can cause a sore throat or burning sensation. If your peak-flow gets worse, go back to the doctor (or an emergency room!), but if not, give it a chance to work. The heavy-chest thing -- well, I'm going through that myself and I think it's depression, since my peak-flow's 500.

I don't think it is Advair, but yes, you should get checked by your doctor. Those are serious symptoms.

although just now you are still in the green section of your peak flow. asthma attacks do not always follow numbers. you may be having an attack and stilll have a high peakflow.

these symptoms are not normal for you which suggests you mnay be having a mild exacerbation of asthma or a small upset. but with asthma even the mildest of attacks can be serioulys dangerous so you need to go to the dr if you have taken your reliver and still having difficulty.

I hope you're feeling better in the meantime, but you might have a a lung catarrah - that is the finest bronchial capallaries might be inflamed if you have had a longer bought of coughing, hard breathing, and wheezing.

Ironically the medicine of an inhaler cannot reach the smallest parts of the lungs if they are to inflamed and swollen. They squeeze the spaces shut so the medicine cannot reach them.

You might ask your doctor about bronchial inflamation and maybe have to take a cortison pill for a couple of days. Oral or intravenous medicine reaches the bronichal capallaries from the "other" side.

When I was diagnosed with asthma I had similar symptoms. My exhaustion was from my BP being really high; body working hard to maintain air levels.

Chest pressure I've experienced from the stress of symptoms, attack itself and Prednisone.

I go back to the doctor on June 15. I don't feel great but I do feel much better. i guess it just took a few days for the Advair to work. Now the rescue inhaler is helping with the chest pain. As far as exhaustion, I have had good days and bad days. yesterday I didn't need my rescue inhaler all day long today I have used it three times.

Are you coughing alot? The pain in the chest could be from that....that is what happened to me....I needed 5 days of predisone to clear it up

in hospital it didnt even reach 50

Yeah the peak flow doesn't worry me.... it was the way I felt.

BTW I am going in on Wednesday just to make sure its okay. I'm still not able to do exercise. So i'm going to see what happens.

Just wanted to update you guys. They changed my meds. Doctor said I should be feeling better after 2 wks on advair. So he took me off advair and put me on Symbicort and a pill called Accolate twice a day and he's keeping me on the Pro-air since this is working. I just hope to get all this worked off.
