Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
I am having trouble finding a good pulmonoligist who will be in network of my insurance. I can't get help with the costs of my medicines. I also cannot afford to see a pulmonogist because just one of my medicines costs what it takes to pay rent and my entire paycheck goes toward medicines even though I have insurance. I'm glad to know you at least have the medicines you need to treat the asthma with. I've been trying to get better so I can get the pneumonia shot. My boyfriend is loaning me albuterol vials because I'm running low on xopenex and can't afford more. The prescription assistance programs count others in the house's income against you even though you're not their dependent. I couldn't get the help because I am "over the limit". This just adds to all the grief I'm going through now that is already unbearable. I hear there is another snow storm coming tomorrow so that means no pharmacy for me either. It's hard not to be able to go out. I've had a trachea infection before too. It's no fun and scary because it's hard to breathe. I hope you get better soon.
