Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
I don't know the answer...I never had such severe attacks until October of this year...and I know when they start, I just head down to the er...nothing I have done at home helped...
But yesterday I started feeling like one was begining and I did the nebulizer and it seemed to go away...I don't know yet if I was jumping the gun, or if I was successfully proactive.
Hope you are feeling better.
I ended up in the ER. Everything I tried was not working. I am still doing breathing treatments and I am on a course of steroids. I am resting and taking it easy for a while.
It usually takes me about a week or longer to recover and get some strength back. Fighting to breathe wears me out.
