Chronic foot swelling with prednisone?

I've been on prednisone since May 21st. I've had a hard time tapering down. I'm currently on 40mg soon to be tapered down to 35mg. My feet are constantly swollen all over. Elevating my feet and drinking more water doesn't seem to help. I was down to 40mg before and never had this happen. The swelling makes my feet ache and makes my sneakers too tight. Has anyone else had this and if yes what did you do? When did it go away?

are you wearing compression socks? they help my mom and my husband...also, when legs are elevated....moving the toes and foot forward and back...like you are tapping your foot, helps to move fluid upwards off the lower legs.
mom's was due to cellulitus, and my husband's was due to an infection (which we could not see) at his ankle. Both are on diuretics.

I don't wear compression socks or take a diuretic. I believe the foot and hand swelling is a prednisone side effect. As I taper my dose and eventually come off of prednisone the swelling should go down. Elevating my feet does help. I will try moving the toes and foot forward and back.
