Caifornia brush fires

Just a note to all our members who live in California. You all have my sympathies because of all the brush fires. I honestly don't know how you guys with asthma function with all that smoke in the air.

What do you all do to get by?

First, stay inside -- seriously, I go out as little as possible. I'm lucky this time because I'm west of the closest, the Station fire, and the wind is either non-existent or blowing the other direction. For most of this event the smoke has gone straight up and then drifted east.

Last year during the Sayre fire it was hard on asthmatics mostly because the smoke air hung around the Valley for three weeks.

Hey, I just saw this. Yeah, no kidding--poor Californians!!!

I live in Oklahoma and we got smoke out here, too. Normally in summer I get a break from asthma because mine is triggered far worse with cooler/cold air. But while that smoke was in our air--whoa! was I ever coughing.

if i lived in Cali, i would move. just because every time i flew into there to visit someone, the foggy pollution always had me coughing. actually, i'm allergic to any State i've been to on the continental US. that's why i moved here to HI. i've gotten off most my inhalers and spays and whatever else steroid that had me on that really didn't seem to help. once i moved here, for the 1st time in my life i felt like i could actually BREATH! it's amazing.

i really do feel for those that live around the brush fires and those caught down wind of it. God be with you all!

Smoke in the air is like frigid cold air....you stay out of it the best you can. Thanks for thinking of us. :-) It isn't easy when it is happening. Thankfully, all is better now. But as others have pointed out, the smog here is 24/7....Sorry for the states that are downwind!
