Can you go get some allergy meds? Even order online via Amazon?? I like Zyrtec and Alavert-D. But lately I have needed Zyrtec after my allergy shots. Maybe ask your doctor about allergy shots? I have been getting them for two years and my allergies have been better. It's a giant pain in the arse but I think its worth a mention.

But if you haven't already, Amazon.com with Prime shipping membership. It seems expensive at first but there are so many items with free Prime shipping. You can buy absolutely anything on there!!!!! I have ordered Nebulizer parts and allergy meds and my fragrance free shower gel.

In the interim I like a hot tea and hot water with lemon to break up the mucous a bit. I can't have lemon anymore because of GERD but before I would use this daily to break it up! Even just hot water if you have no lemons works. I also gargle with salt water...and sinus rinse! Sinus rinse (use distilled water only unless its premixed) saves me almost daily!!

I take reactine and thankfully still have a fair amount of it left. I can't get Amazon Prime in Canada unfortunately. There are no allergists here. The only one is 30 minutes away. I had to take an expensive round trip cab ride there. I don't have anyone who can drive me there and no vehicle. I read for xolair allergy shots prior authorization is needed for insurance to pay for them. I don't think I could get allergy shots because of this. The saline nebulizer does help some. I used to use a neti pot but since I started taking reactine it dries my sinuses out too much. I use a corticosteroid nasal spray. I had to take a bus uptown to get the tubing, nebulizer mask and saline nebules because my pharmacy doesn't have them. My pharmacy has nebulizer medication though. I did find that a hot steamy shower earlier helped some. I tried to gargle with salt water but it makes me gag. Maybe my family doctor will be able to see me next week and prescribe another nebulizer medication or I could try an expectorant. I appreciate all of the advice redvelvet. :) The saline has helped for now. I will take extra symbicort and ventolin(albuterol) as needed. I will use the nasal spray again too. Do you ever have the glands in your throat swell when your allergies are acting up? My glands are swollen and sore right now. I'm glad you're doing better.

No Amazon prime in Canada? That just stinks, sorry. I'm glad the saline helped...it helps me daily. I actually had a coughing fit last night for two hours and realized I didn't take my own advice! Hot water drink then shower and saline...then sleep after a xanax. Yes salt water makes me gag too...but it helps when I can do it for ten seconds...yes right on the thirty seconds! Lol.

Yes kind of, the glands in my throat swell when everything is inflamed and either allergies or I'm about to get sick. The ones behind the ear ate the ones that also swell for me. I had a doctor tell me it's because I don't drink enough water and another said it's when the eustachian tube is shut. I use flonase.now and that helps with that...it's overt the counter now here godly outs over the counter there now too...Also nasonex but I like flonase better.

I'm having a really hard time today. The congestion is worse and my peak flows are down. The asthma medication didn't help but the saline did. I wonder if I do need a medication for my nebulizer? I've felt even more tired today and I'm freezing! It's warmer today but my temperature is 97.9F. I can't seem to get warm. I don't have anything hot to drink. I could try soup later maybe if I don't warm up. No doctor ever told me why the glands in my throat swell. They're swollen most of the time.

That's weird duo the feel your glands when you go? Have you been to an east nose throat doctor?

Sorry the needs aren't helping...they do have albuterol that is combined with something else in liquid form...I forgot what it's called but I'll update when I remember or Google it.

Maybe you have a virus or bacterial infection? Are you coughing up stuff?

Also randomly do you have Uber there? It's cheaper than a cab ride...

They feel my glands when I go but sometimes they aren't swollen as much. They are the worst during a flare, a cold or other upper respiratory infection. I went to an ENT a few years ago for chronic hoarseness that lasted 2 years and recurrent swollen salivary glands. He never found a reason for the hoarseness which eventually went away. The salivary gland swelling, he just said that some people have them swell. Said I'm more prone to salivary gland stones because of my parathyroid issues.A salivary gland x-ray showed no stones.

Is the medication called duoneb? We don't have Uber here. Just cabs and buses. The city buses don't go there.

I googled it and yes duoneb! Dang it...some if those businesses need to go global already...but uber is pretty new here...it's app based and regular people drive you when they're free for a reduced fare. Done dint like our because it's not as regulated as cabs.

But no I don't get back pain per se...but I do feel sore after coughing...and sometimes it hurts to inhale...like this morning it hurt to inhale for the first half hour I was up...but that was only my throat area. I have to be pretty sick to feel it in my back...except for the soreness from coughing. I will try to pay attention tonight if I start coding tonight to see.

Do you feel any better? Did the doctor get back to you yet? I know it's still early on a Monday...

I wouldn't be able to use an app if it's only on cell phone. I don't have enough people to call so I don't really have much use for one.

I'm feeling even worse today. Really bad congestion earlier, chest tightness, soreness, it was hard to talk. I had to take four puffs of albuterol in order for it to help. I still have congestion in my chest and through and I'm sore from coughing. I have the upper back pain again too. My family doctor can't see me until Wednesday afternoon. I did ask if there were cancellations tomorrow if they could get me in sooner. I have to take it easy because I feel out of breath especially if I do too much walking around. I have an appointment for blood work at 7:15am Wednesday morning. I can't eat or drink anything for 8 hours beforehand. I take two buses to get there and two to get back. Stay home for a short period of time and take another bus to get to my family doctor's office. I will be there early. I will be so tired Wednesday. How are you feeling?

I have been reading your posts and am sorry to hear of these troubles. How are your peak flows?

I don't check my peak flows too often. I do know that when I'm doing well I can usually blow 400-500. With the congestion 250-300. I have a hard time doing peak flows because I can't blow out quickly and forcefully so I kind of huff/cough in order to do it. That's the only way it works for me.

Your situation sounds like you need another controller for your asthma! Tell your doctor this.
