Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
Also, I find hot lemon water with ginger helps break up the mucous and hot showers help me (have someone around in case you get lightheaded). So hot showers, hot lemon water, and a humidifier AND an air purifier. Keep the windows and doors closed and ban all pets (if you have one) from your sleeping quarters for the time being.
I also second the saline nasal treatments my two favorite brands are NeilMed and Ocean (the spray one). Also use a scarf to cover your mouth in the cold air, it hurts and makes me cough as well when cold air hits my lungs. I hope you find relief!!!!
I will try some of the things you suggested.
She put me on 2 new inhalers. I should start feeling better in about 10 days.
