Hi,

I am currently taking Alvesco. It has worked well for 4years but my dr is thinking about putting me on Qvar. I have heard that it suppose to be a really good ICS. Is anyone out there taking this Qvar!! It is suppose to get deeper into the smaller airways but I thought Alvesco was suppose to do that as well. Not sure why he wants to change. So I would appreciate any help on Qvar,,,

Hey Medic,

I don't use this inhaler, but I just wanted to let you know I read your post, and I looked up Qvar, and now I am interested in this Inhaler. If you switch meds please keep us posted if you notice any improvements!

Personally for me, I've tried all the inhaled steroids, and for some reason qvar is the only one that caused heart palpitations! It did work well though;)! Give it a try, but honestly if you're well controlled with alvesco why switch?

I use it as an add-on to Advair (500/50) during my most allergic times of year (fall) or any time I need a booster. I am highly sensitive to a billion different things..... fabric softener for example, just walking down that aisle at the store causes attacks so I have to buy my laundry soap online.... Anyway, I like it well enough. I've been using it for 15 years now..... It keeps me from having to use oral prednisone which I have seen enough of.
