Asperger Syndrome Support Group

1) come right out & tell them,
2) tell them you met a friend who has it & see their reaction, first
3) tell about Autism & Asperger's & the wasted potential in society, then tell them
4) give them brochures about it, or internet info., discuss that, then get to the subject...
diffferent ways like that.
Good Luck, Kris
it would make his moter worry even more than she does and she's already in bad health (he suspects she has AS too by her behaviour all her life and she inherited if from her]. Ergo he doesn't feel that teling her about something she may have is going to do her any favours at the age of 65. She's not a happy woman and has struggled her whole life with problems - what good would it do at this age to think she had a condition which lets face it is difficult to get to grips with.
RE: his father- very old school - doesn't even think that mental illness necessarily exists on a functional level. ie. if you're a complete raving loony then yes you have issues. However, if you're a functioning or semi-functioning individual then "just get on with it" At 71 is it fair to expect someone to take this onboard?
Opinions welcome!
