Sibling of a child with Aspergers

I'm 15. My brother is 13. He was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome when he was around 5, which would place me at 7. I grew up hyper aware of other people's emotions. I feel as though witnessing the stress and pain both my parents and brother have gone through has really taken a toll on me and my wellbeing. I have subconsciously taught myself to suppress any negative emotions. I hardly tell my parents anything. I've been stuggling a significant amount more as of late. I was wondering if anyone is in a similar place or has experienced similar things and is willing to talk to me. Thank you :)

I am happy to talk to you. It's important for you to explore your feelings. You cannot change what your brother has to deal with, but you can make yourself stronger so that you perceive your brother differently. It's good to talk about how you feel and explore what you feel. I deal with Cerebral Palsy and with a lack of support from my own family I know how you feel with what you have to deal with. What an insightful young person you are. I'm so glad you reached out here to talk. I know that you said you haven't shared much with your parents. Have you thought about speaking with a trusted teacher, guidance counselor or pastor to help you through this time? I'm glad that you shared this.
