New to group. Mom of Asperger's son

I have an 18 year old son with Asperger's. He graduated from high school a few months ago. He mostly like to play online video games or watch tv. He has a quick temper and was a tantrum thrower when he was younger. He says he's been planning on getting a job but has yet to go out looking. I've gently mentioned this to him on occassion. He gets defesive orl mad.
I brought up the idea of getting him on Social Security but he didn't like that because he wanted to work.
To give you some background on our relationship, I have bipolar disorder. As you can see, I'm dealing with my own problem as well. Dealing with him is very difficult for me. I don't have the mental stamina to endure a long argument with him. I've have been criticized by many people who said I was too easy on him and maybe I am. I just don't know how to handle someone like him. I've really only dealt with children who didn't have this sort of condition.
I just want some advice on how to get him going into getting a job. Please don't be too hard on me. I've been through a lot.
