Asperger Syndrome Support Group
Asperger syndrome - also referred to as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's, Aspergers or just AS - is one of five neurobiological pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and is characterized by deficiencies in social and communication skills, normal to above normal intelligence, and standard language development.
It may help to talk to your son's teacher and have a system that you use both at school and at home - same consequences when he acts up, similar discussions happening each time you need to correct his behavior. You could make a visual chart or something that would require him to reflect on his behavior with you at home and with his teacher at school each day to keep track of his progress and patterns in his behavior. Set a goal for how he will do on his chart from the beginning and talk about a reward if he succeeds. (7 out of 10 positive days, 5 consecutive days with no problems, whatever you think is attainable). Sometimes the consistency between home and school helps, especially with kids with disabilities.
I hope that is useful, and I hope you are doing well!
