Hi, my daughter is a high functioning aspie child, he has an extremely hard time with social situations make it very difficult for us, any friends she did has she has disoriented, she gets picked on constantly or made fun of, its hearbreaking because with all the counseling she has been getting, she has made vast improvements. in alot of areas, we finally i think have her on the right combination of medicine, she now only throws tantrums at normal times for kids, but there are alot of days she comes home from school reclusive, sometimes but mostly looking to stir up trouble, only because of events from her day. My daughter will be 12 in august.
Any how an example, she likes to dress up, and she wore a dress to school, i dont know what happened yet exactly but she called my father in law to come up to our house to bring her new clothes cause she was getting picked on so bad. due to her condition she is very immature for her age, which makes her a target in the school system. anyhow, does anyone have any suggestions for us to try

anywho , with the emotion econgizing I have heard afew ways that you can do that if it is that . there is kinda the picture flash card method , have heard of charts too , a good way to kinda do this in real time tho is tv , they can watch and get the emotional ques that way
anywho, if you feel like it throw me a mail , can kinda give stuff from a sorta aspie view ( you realize tho each aspie funtions differant )

It is about being a female with Aspergers at any age. It also has a ton of advice for parents. My mom and I are reading it now and it is great. Very helpful. It is easy to read and has stories from other Aspergirls. Both you and your daughter should read it.

Meds? Why is she on meds? If aspergers is all she has she shouldn't be on meds. Meds are for other things like ADHD, ADD, OCD, ect... There is no medication out there for Aspergers. Aspergers isn't a mental thing, it's actually a physical thing. We're simply hard wired differently then the rest of the world. There's no meds and no cure. Just professionals need to adjust their teaching methods. Food for thought.
I don't know what to tell you to do except home school her or find a school that is made for aspies, which do exist. I wish I had found one when I was a kid, because I quit school at age 16 and got my GED.
