Thier is own person who can connect an aspergers patient to the out side world. That person is God, because He created the world and He made aspergers patients.I connect to others better when I pray for guidance .It amazes me just how much God loves people who have aspergers syndrome.I seek guidance from the Holy Spirit all of the time. I feel closer to others when I do. Does anyone else have an opinion ?

Hello KenArno, Yes, I've always been a believer in God, but have only been a devoted follower for the past 30 years. I'm glad God is omnipresent because He's always with me, too! In fact, He's my Father, my Mentor, and my Best Friend. I talk with Him all throughout the day about whatever is on my mind. I always ask His Guidance for any decision, after all, I want only to do His Will, and His Plan for my life. Is His guidance for you by "signs"? Or, is it more "conversational" as His guidance is for me?

I'm also an atheist. I think that Aspergers is best understood in terms of science, and for we who have Aspergers, focusing on this world and our experiences in it is our best way to understand ourselves and to live a meaningful life.

Personally, my preference is to keep religion out of it. I might suggest someone could feel better if they pray (never mentioning to whom) but that's as far as it should go on here.

I'm an agnostic, not an atheist, but an agnostic of many years. Not looking to change that.

I recently told my 17 year old son that he didn't have to go to church any more, He was tired of them bashing other religions (I have taught him to be tolerant of all religions), tired of not getting anything out of it, and tired of always leaving the service feeling like he wasn't doing enough.

To me the best way to serve God or to be religious is to help others. I told my son to focus on the volunteer work he is going to start at the Humane Society on Saturday. I'm sure he'll get a lot more out of it than what he got out of going to church.

Hello, Churches are not the same and if they are providing the right guidance, they will not be bashing other religions or beliefs.
My advice would be to keep looking for a church that preaches acceptance, love, and tolerance as part of their mission.

I view myself as a non-denominational Christian who no longer wishes to subscribe to one particular Church.

The issues about 'religion' in Northern Ireland are more in relation to the juxtaposition of Church and State. The Irish State wanted to be Catholic, whilst Northern Ireland wanted to be Protestant. They fed off each other in terms of fear of themuns.

    Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner.  I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings.  But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
