Asperger Syndrome Support Group
Asperger syndrome - also referred to as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's, Aspergers or just AS - is one of five neurobiological pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and is characterized by deficiencies in social and communication skills, normal to above normal intelligence, and standard language development.
We must remember that there is a broad spectrum when it comes to AS and I can't think of hearing about or meeting two AS with identical symptoms (have 3 in my family and about 6 more in circle of friends). One has a sexual identity problem.

It's hard to understand sexual feelings when you have Aspergers Syndrome. It's even harder to realise whom you have them feelings for. It's not suprising that you spend your teenage years totally and utterly confused. It's ok to be Gay/a Lesbian or Bi-sexual. Not everyone fits into the hetrosexual box. Don't decide who you are by listening to other peoples judgements. Don't let yourself be influenced by peoples remarks about homosexuality. It's your life and you have to be happy with yourself. People form there own opinions and they have a right to do that. The same as you have a right to be who you truely are. There's no point acting straight if it doesn't make you happy just to make people around you be accepting of you. Just because one person's small minded enough to sat that they think it is abnormal and sick, doesn't mean that it's the opinion of others. It shouldn't be frowned up on anymore but it still is. Don't trust everyone, especially in school as section 28 doesn't allow teachers to back homosexual relationships. Therefore you will get into trouble if you show your sexuality publically. You will end up getting punished for being yourself. I know this is a very harsh thing that happens. It's the way it is at the moment. Hopefully it won't always be that way, but at the moment we have to be very careful. Over the last few years the world has started to accept less and less. Rules have tightened up to the point of being insulting to intelligence. It seems like the rules have been made to protect us from each other and in favour of the higher people in society. These are people like Professionals, Politicians, Royals, The Rich, Celebrities etc. The people who don't fall into that catorgery always get down trodden. When society finds out what you are they will try to make sure that you never end up as any of the higher people groups. Coming out is risky for anyone who is neurotypical let alone if you're socially different because of AS too.
Here are signs that you could be Gay/a Lesbian or Bi-Sexual: (think of who you are fond of and you'll see)
* You can't help starring at them however hard you try not to.
* There is a feeling inside you that gives you a sense of not being able to sit still even if the person is not pleased to see you.
* You have an urge to touch them that is very strong, like an impulse.
* You feel a sense of a very strong bond, like an elastic band with them.
* You try to impress them by lying to be more attractive to them.
* You try to be someone that you aren't to get them to like you, however in the process make a complete idiot out of yourself.
* When you lose contact with them, you feel lost and find it difficult to cope and carry on in life.
* You melt inside when they come into the room, if they ask you something or discuss something with you, you stupidly agree with whatever they're saying.
If you feel more than one of these things for a person of the same sex, or in both sexes, on more than one occasion throughout your life. Then there's a strong possibility that you could be either Gay/a Lesbian or Bi-Sexual.
