I am reading a book on Aspergers and long-term relationships.. This book suggests I keep a marriage journal, focused on what I need to do to improve on myself in the relationship. One of the challenges with my husband is his lack of follow through. He says he is going to do something and then never does. Or he completely ignores things that need to be done and I end up doing. Bottom line I need to find a way to get him to help more around the house, and I need to stop being a martyr.
So I have decided to try and leave honey-do post-it's on the fridge. He has admitted that he forgets to do things and that I need to remind him. I hate being a nag, but a post-it is a little more subtle. We will see if it works? Do you think it will? Any suggestions?

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Probably once a month he will do something I will tell me one week advance. Its sad but that's the fact of life for me after many years of frustrations of getting to help out around the house. I have not found a technique yet. Good Luck !
If the issue is him forgetting and he remembers to look on the fridge, yes.
This isn't really an aspie thing again so you may be able to pick up ideas from women married to non aspie men.
Some aspies will be the converse, always doing the tasks because they may find structure and routine easier.
In my "schedule" are some things to "check and see if they need to be done", that will solve the problem of tasks that arent always necessary. When it came to random things that needed to be done, notes worked well. The things that are on a schedule will became routine for me and I didnt see those things as stuff my mother was bugging me about all the time. Leaving lots of notes would make me feel like she was constantly giving me stuff to do, the stuff on the list was just stuff I had to do, I didnt associate it with her bugging me to do things, it was just what I had to do....
