My name is Mick and this is my first post here.
Just by way of an introduction, i am a married man,(at the moment) 54 years of age I think I might have AS or something like it anyway.
I seem to fit some of the diagnostic criteria and am doing things pretty tough at the moment.
I fixate on things and just can't let them go. I have often wondered what is wrong with me and after reading some of the posts here, it seems I am not alone. I am real glad to have found you guys.

I just found out about AS too.
My parents had me in therapy way before they had a name for it, so I am pretty sure this is it.
I am still learning to navigate here but am a little uncomfortable speaking so openly about my problem just now.
All I know is that my life is going to crap at the moment and I am the cause of it all. I just don't know why I am saying and doing the stupid things that I am.
I get that frustrated with myself at times, I really feel like giving myself a smack in the mouth.
I bloody HATE this.
take your time if you want to only join in in a general, vague or semi-anonymous way =) lots of people do that at the start or ongoing. there's no person assigned to monitor how much private info we are revealing =)

I got diagnosed with Aspergers at 47, about 5 months ago.
Can relate to what you are saying, sounds like me talking.
In the middle of a chat with a friend, will talk soon. Good people here with support and knowledgable advice.
