Pretty well depressed of late and after guidance from my wife, I have reviewed symptoms and diagnosis of Asperbers and believe I have a mild case of it, way tooooooo much anger over the years, impulsive behavior and acting out of anger on self. I am much depressed tonight having come to grips with this long delayed evaluation, and feeling pretty low about myself.

No need to bedepressed, My BF is autistic to, was just formally dx and I love him dearly. Anger is a hard thing for anyone to deal with, self harm does noone any good. Welcome to the group and hope you find peace and answers here

Things can get better now that you and your wife are aware of aspergers as a factor in your relationship. There are some great books out - "Look Me in the Eye" and "The other Half of Aspergers" that help understand aspergers and learn to improve communications - which will mean less hurt feelings, more shared happiness!

Awareness brings both relief and depression - in my case anyway. It will work itself out and we're here and your wife is supportive it sounds.

My wife is far from supportive, we are actually not talking anymore. Last night we had a wonderful dinner with our on-in-law and my daughter. At the last minute I learned that she expected me to pay for everything. TOTAL. I have customers who have not paid me yet, and I blew. Huge argument. She did not tell me about this at all. I am not talking to her anymore.

Anger is not a part of AS syndome. You may have another diagnosis.
By the way AS diagnos is going to be deleted in the 2013 DSM manuel. Sounds more like BPD. I would get a second opinion and some Anger Management treatment. I wish you the best.

Anger is a very HUMAN emotion that can be brought about by being used and abused, whether we let it happen to ourselves or not. ASpergers and being human often are comorbid.

I am actually new here as well. I have not yet been formally diagnosed with Asperger's but started researching it this week after my mom suggested that I might have it. I was quite shocked at how many of the "symptoms" I possess. Monday I'm going in to a psychologist for an evaluation. I always thought I was just weird and morbidly depressed, but apparently many of my childhood habits and a lot of my current tendencies reflect Asperger's syndrome.

PS- I didn't know they were taking it out of the DSM. What will it be replaced with?

Careful now , researching this thing is very much like reading a horoscope.
And of course reading about it will make you mad. "THERE IS NO CURE!" is all over the literature.
Not a fan of diagnosis. Some folks take it as a job description and it cripples with enabling. IMO.
Y'all just sound like folks who are upset and are brave enough to admit it. Nice to meet you :-)
