Asperger syndrome - also referred to as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's, Aspergers or just AS - is one of five neurobiological pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and is characterized by deficiencies in social and communication skills, normal to above normal intelligence, and standard language development.
Well, let's see if I can make this short. I am a part of several different groups on here so if you've read this in one group you've read them all. I'm hoping by posting this to all my group I can get more opinions.First things first, I am 30 years old have been diagnosed with Aspergers, Depression, anxiety and am bipolar. With this combo you would think I would be on disability, but am not.
I married my husband 3 years ago and in that time I have have had multiple jobs. I am currently unemployed and prefer to be unemployed mainly for anxiety issues involving difficulties with interaction with others. I've tried to find jobs that doesn't require being in front of people or talking to people, but can't find anything. I've worked in back rooms (unloading trucks) several times, but once it's unloaded i have to go out and face people that ask questions while I try to work. It's difficult for me to get things done at the time I'm expected to have them done, but then add on top of that people interrupting my work and it is just bad...
What I am getting at is, my husband is getting stressed with all of the bills being his responsibility which I completely understand. His stress makes me feel guilty because I feel like I should go out and get a job, but when you have so many things working against you it's not easy. It's kind of a lose, lose for me because if I work I feel depressed because I can't keep up and am so exhausted all the time, but if I don't work I feel guilty because he has to pay all of the bills himself. I really don't know what to do.
My husband is an avid hunter and I really worry that if I were to get disability he wouldn't be allowed to have guns around me because of my diagnoses'. I am pretty stable and am not a threat to anyone. I have a psychologist that I go to and she has done a lot of testing to make sure that I am okay to be around guns and the such. Does anyone have experience with this?
My husband is very supportive of any decision that I make. I just want to make sure that I make the best decision for us. Thanks for any help/advice.

Put your cursor on the picture and use the mouse wheel to scroll down. During your job interview, tell the Personnel. interviewer about your preference to work alone, and never deal with customers. I'm sure they won't try to make you do this then.
Register with your state's voc rehab agency. They will assess you and then try to find an appropriate job. Let's say you try one or two and fail, that strengthens your case for Disability.
You can do all of these things at once, apply for Soc Security (both SSDI and SSI), and apply for voc rehab. You'll have lengthy waits in both.
Write down your work history the best you can reconstruct, and give the reasons each job ended. This is building your case.
I wish you luck. It is really concerning when you can't "pull your weight" with bills. Try to make up for it by being economical around the house, and so on.
