New here. Also on Widow/Widower site. Has anyone had worsening joint/muscle pain while taking cholesterol lowering drugs? I switched from Lipitor to Vytorin 10/20 about 8 months ago. My normal pain from OA in knees has gotten worse as had inflammation. I've developed daily low back pain as well as pain/weakness in the pelvic & hip areas. Walking has become much more difficult. I do NOT want to submit to TKR and have tried acupuncture, chiropractic, limited PT, Synvisc injections and stem cell injections with no improvement. Over the past few weeks I've begun to feel like an invalid, and it's scaring me. I'm a 72-yr-old basically healthy, young-at-heart woman who still works PT. I'm not ready to join the Scooter Set.

I've been told by many people that TKR is the way to go and that they LOVE their new knees. I'm 67 and also am not ready for a scooter. I've always been an explorer, an adventurer, and I'm not ready to let go of ALL of that. Plus, I just bought an RV. I need to get as much out of this life as I can before it ends!!
Yrs. ago, I had leg cramps, my dr. gave me a blood test to check if the statin was causing it...the test was neg.
Arthritis is a true challenge!!! Blessings and hoping pain subsides for you!!!!
