I hope you can find some relief for your ankle. foot./ankle soak. Epsom salt? Ice or heat.
I have arthritis in many of my joints including ankles. I exercise my ankles when I take hot baths. I try and rotate them, but the movement is limited. I try and wiggle foot side to side. I pump them up and down and in physical therapy they told me to do the letters of the alphabet with my foot. My right ankle has more flexibility than my left. They both hurt so I do understand how it is.
Hope you have better days.
I've had hip problems off and on more over the past few year. I think this winter has been worse for some reason or it could be because the arthritis has progressed to the point where I'm going to feel it more. I have had more ankle problems and foot problems this year so my walking has been affected off and on by it. I use ice a lot when it's flaring and that helps. It's just when my hips starting getting achey more I started thinking about arthritis too in the back of my mind. I already have a suspect right knee that I was told probably have osteo so I guess it's an increased risk that I will just have to keep in mind and try to reduce the stress and the load by losing more weight.
Thanks again.
good luck healing hugs
I forgot to mention that I had a lot of hip pain before I had my knees done and my rheumatologist insisted that it was BURSITIS and said that physical therapy would help and he said after my knee surgery the hip pain would ease up. He didn't order x-rays. He was sure it was bursitis by what I had explained.
Well I had the knee surgery and and the hip pain has eased up quite a bit. It is nothing like it was so the knees really effected a lot for me and it seems my doc was right.
so perhaps the pain you have is BURSITIS. It the pain is more on the outside of your hips and buttock area that is a possibility. My pain was deep in there and I just couldn't get comfy at times. sitting, standing. It really was painful. Bursitis can be very painful. It seems that hip arthritis you would get pain in the inside in the groin area too and I didn't really have that.
