The supplements is not a bad idea. Some notice improvement with them.
I hope you get some relief and improvement too.
I know it hurts but try and keep moving and any exercise a physical therapist may recommend. Perhaps your Gp can help with guiding you with that. Check with doctor if exercise is ok for you. Physical Therapy may help and can teach ways on how to move the body and to avoid injury and cause further damage. They can suggest better way on getting in out of the car, climbing stairs, doing everyday chores. So check into getting PT. it can help strengthen body too.
I don't know if you are overweight or not but my physician encouraged me to lose some, I am not significantly over weight but just those few pounds make a difference to the stress on the joints.
And of course dietary changes may help too for arthrits. There are anti inflammatory diets out there. Cut out sugar, and processes foods.
Etc. Some people get some relief from going Gluten Free. It's all worth looking into.
All the best to you.
I like to get my mega doses of glucosamine, chronditin, collagen, multi mineral, iron, hyarolonic acid... from the foods that I cook. Cheap and good super foods, rich in calcium and trace elements for bone health. Great for repairing joint and cartilage damage. Never ever have to spend money on expensive supplements.
Bone Broth is the best food for bone and cartilage repairs. Cheap and good. Our skeleton is being replaced once every 12 years, so image how much calcium and minerals are required? We need loads of cheap broth to repair our worn out joints and damage cartilage. Great source of calcium for Osteoprosis prevention. Cheap source of protein with at least 19 amino acids, easily absorbed in the guts. Use broth to make soups, risottos, makes delicious sauces, add it to stir fries...etc
For Vegans, consider taking another superfood. Spirulina and Corrella are well know for many healing properties for Arthiritis and joint pain.
There is a herb called Pennywort for healing arthritis. Also commonly known in the nurseries as arthritis plant. In India it is called Buku Kola.
Eat 2 leaves a day for couple of months to see results.
I have tried all the above. Grow pennywort in my garden and cook cheap broth every week, stock them up in my fridge.
Cheers to Bone Health and Beautiful skin.
No More Arthiritis.
