I have Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis and my hips and groin kill me. I'm always afraid that I'm going to break something at any moment. I am trying to walk more... even just around the house! I have a host of autoimmune diseases and the general advice is exercise as much or little as you can. Just walking from room to room helps a little.

Dear Cinben: I have to go to a Dr. next week. I was told a few times I had arthritis in rotary cuff I had a complete tear through rotary cuff . Well the the stupid Dr I got told me he would never operate on my shoulder because I could pull my sweater over my head. I belong . to Kaiser HMo horrible. I,am sorry I ,am going off like this .But I ,am in so much pain, It just started about 6 months ago and I,am so scared of DRs. what injections are you talking about? i,am just wondering what happens ?. when you have all this pain. I have to lay down I feel so sleepy tired what ever. I hope your hip gets better . It all sucks to me. I heard constant pain can raise your blood pressure?. zzztop

Hi, I have to sit all day at a computer at work, and that has been terrible and made everything harder by the end of the day of sitting (walking, standing...). I just got a ball to sit on, however, and that has really helped more than anything else I've tried, because I can move the weight away from my bad hip while I sit.

Hip update-it turns out that I have 3 tears in the labrum and tendons-Im trying to find a surgeon to repair it.The pain is debiltating -the first dr. told me I might not heal well post op because I have depression & fibromyalgia!Is his serious?!So I should limp around the rest of my life??-now thats depressing!

Hey cinben. Which knee did you have replaced? Is the pain in your hip on one side or both? The reason I ask is I had a TKR on right knee in aug and am now experiencing pain in my left hip. I go to doc in a few weeks to investigate. I know I was told that getting my TKR I might have problems because I've been relying on the left part of my body because my knee was painful to walk.
Glad you got an answer. Find another doc to do your surgery. One doc told me he wouldn't operate on me because I was overweight and had been on pain management for a while and he didn't think he could control my pain after surgery. Well, I found another doctor, had the surgery and have lost over 40#'s just because I can walk now without pain and my whole attitude is better. I didn't realize what a "pain" I was to my loved ones until I recovered from the surgery. Pain made me gripey and depressed. Feel much better now. Good luck!

I also need a knee replacement at some point.
I will be having RFA very soon to give me some time before doing the total replacement as I have a CMC thumb joint in my thumb that needs to be replaced and we decided to take care of that first as it is a more complicated procedure and recuperation.

I also have hip pain which doc said is because of the favoring of the bad knee.
I have had an injection in the hip and it has been helping some.

I notice if I walk a walk a couple times a wk, at least three, my left hip feels ok. If I lift something like bags of groceries, then it bothers me, sitting on that side more bothers me too. Try putting a soft pillow, and a microwave rice bag on it. I used to makes these for people an they loved them. I hope the best for.
