I hate pre-authorizations. For some drugs it is the most stupid thing. I could be taking a drug that is not a narcotic and not a steroid (I get bad side effects from steroids- have have cataracts in both eyes before I am 43) but Aetna thinks it know better than my doctor and has me jumping through hoops to get celebrex. I have GERD and cannot take diclofenac for a long time. I just want something to get the inflammation down so I don't miss anymore work.

Just needed to vent.

I too have GERD. I don't think, in the long run, Celebrex is going to be that much better for you than any other NSAID. They all come with the warning of stomach bleeding and the usual gastro warnings.

I still take aspirin, and indocin, and steroids. I just make sure that I take them with food, an acid reducer, and plenty of tums.

Good luck though on getting the medicine you need.

I understand. Right now I am paying only $35.00 for my Celebrex. In March of next year I go on Medicare and the formulary of the Part D suppliment that I plan to use charges $95.00 copay for Celebrex. I guess I will go back to Mobic but it definately not as good as Celebrex. I've tried to go back because it's cheap but I can tell a difference.
