I found Mobic better than Celebrex. Why are you on Plaquenil for osteoarthritis? That's used for autoimmune arthritis.

Celebrex did nothing for me. Not the first or the second time I tried it. The best nsaid I ever took was Bextra. I cried when that got taken off the market. Oh well.

Have you ever taken Diclofenac(Voltaren)?. That worked ok for me until my BP started going up, then my doc stopped it. Now I use the new Toradol NS called SPRIX. Only supposed to use it 3 times a week. Now this works! Burns like fire in the nose but worth it when my pain is so severe I can barely catch my breath.

See if your insurance covers it before doc prescribes it. I have a feeling it's expensive. Good luck!

Wabby, Yes, Plaquniel is for Rumatoid arthritis. I tested negative for RA but i checked positive for Sjogrens Syndrome, which he thought was strange because that usually goes along with RA. I think that's why I'm so confused. My doctor pretty much blames everything on ostio and hasn't really paid much attention that I tested positive for Sjogrens. I think the Sjogrens is progressing.I'm sure my pain in my knees and swollen, stiff fingers and toes is arthritis. But my back pain sometimes seems different. I tried Celebrex one time ago too and I don't think it worked that much better than Mobic either . I remember I didn't think it was worth the extra money for the difference. Thought I'd try it again. At least I can give Mobic a rest and maybe if I go back to it, it will work better. I wondered if Celebrex had more side effects. Seem like I remember the doctor saying that Mobic was easier on the stomach than most. I know it hasn't changed that much if any so far. But it's onlly been a week. I'm sure it takes awhile. We'll see, I guess

You can have Sjogren's Syndrome on its own, it's known as Primary Sjogren's Syndrome, rather than Secondary Sjogren's, that coexists with other connective tissue diseases.

The Plaquenil should be helping your joints because the pain is most likely coming from your Sjogren's. Have you thought about getting a second opinion? How long have you been on Plaquenil? It can take 3-6 sometimes 12 months to kick in fully.

That's how I felt about Celebrex over Mobic, it wasn't worth the extra money and I found Mobic to be more helpful. Diclofenac was the best NSAIDs I've tried, but it is so tough on the stomach. My doctors said it is the best of the anti-inflammatories, but it's the worst for the stomach.

From what I recall, Celebrex is easier than Mobic on the stomach. But Celebrex has been linked to heart disease. I've had some doctors refuse to prescribe it to me (when I was on it) for this reason. A pharmatoxicologist told me that I most definitely shouldn't be taking it.

I'd say stick out the Mobic for a bit longer. It took me 3ish weeks to notice any real improvement on it.

You might need something stronger if you're not doing so well still.
