I know this is a bit late for a comment but avoiding red meat, salt, and sugar really helped. Then I put extra garlic, cinnamon, and other protein sources in my diet and it helped reduce swelling.
I would also consider Enbrel as a option for the future for her (it’s an autoinjecter). It worked very well for me but I couldn’t stand the needles.
