Arrhythmias Support Group
Cardiac arrhythmia is a group of conditions in which the muscle contraction of the heart is irregular or is faster or slower than normal. Some arrhythmias are life-threatening medical emergencies that can cause cardiac arrest and sudden death. Others cause aggravating symptoms, such as an awareness of a different heart beat, or palpitation, which can be annoying.
I guess for the question on exercise, some gym equipment has monitors where you can hold the grips and see what your heart rate is; maybe something like that would give you a warning when it is rising too high? Also, maybe it would be safer to consider a recumbent stationary bike--do they make them with seat belts?--might be safer if you do black out. Also, while lifting some weights or doing resistance training isn't usually cardio, it might help you increase your muscle mass so you will burn more calories, without raising your heart rate as much.
You don't mention diet, but many experts say that cardio alone really doesn't do much to help you lose weight...the whole, "You'd have to walk for one hour to burn off a scoop of ice cream" thing. Are you changing the way you eat in an effort to help with weight loss?
