Arnold-Chiari Malformation Support Group
Arnold-Chiari malformation, sometimes referred to as 'Chiari malformation' or ACM, is a congenital anomaly of the brain. Arnold-Chiari Malformation II occurs in almost all children born with both spina bifida and hydrocephalus, but ACM I is typically seen in children and adults without spina bifida.
This is an issue I struggle with all the time. Im wondering what people do to keep pain manageable. I imagine we all have our methods, and think it would be helpful to hear about what other people do.
My new focus is on my posture. I do mild yoga everday, wear a upper back brace occassionally, and decompress my spine by laying in the floor for about 20 mins with a neck roll under my neck. This has helped me more than anything else Ive ever tried.
Other things Ive tried include: Tens- somewhat helpful, but not practical for me; Inversion table - Made it much much worse; accupressure - not helpful; hypnosis - mildly helpful but time consuming
Id like to try accupuncture but the closest practitioner is 1 1/2 hours away. And Id like to try a chiropractor, but Ive heard thats not safe for us.
What other treatments are out there? Are there any that you have you tried that you want to share?

Since you didn't mention medications, are you interested only in non-Rx things that help?
