So I had told everyone in a prior post that I was excited about the first meeting i had with my Neurologist. Not so sure i feel the same way anymore. For some reason he had first put me on Topamax. He said that with the Prolactinoma and Chiari, I am also suffering from migraines. apparently the Topamax would help prevent the migraines from happening. I could not doo the Topamax after the first week, the side effects were crazy. i felt really sluggish with this medication. i called him and he had the MA call me back to tell me he was putting me on Limbitrol. At first i could not find this medication anywhere. When i finally picked it up at the Pharmacy I saw that it was anti depressant medication. i called to make sure that this medication was the correct one and this is what he wanted me on and he said yes. That medication also did not help and I got a UTI off of it. So is topped the meds myself. Since then i have been my normal self again, with the exception pf the headaches. Has anyone ever heard of this method of treatment? I feel like a Guinea Pig, like i am a test trial and he just has me popping pills.
